Please note that third parties, such as small and medium businesses ("SMBs") where you make reservations through our Sites, issuers of Merchant Gift Cards purchased through our Sites, and social networks used in connection with our Sites, may also collect, use, and share information about you. This Policy does not cover such third parties or their services. For information about the privacy practices of third parties, please refer to their respective privacy policies.

Part I - Information We Collect

We collect information about you through various means when you use our Sites. This information is used to provide site functionality, improve the quality of our Sites, and personalize your experience. The types of information we may collect include:

  1. Personal Information: This may include your name, date of birth, photo, email address, postal address, phone number (including mobile phone number), billing information, survey responses, demographics, current and prior appointment details, favorite SMBs, special SMB requests, passwords, contact information of individuals you add to or notify of your appointments through our Sites, names and email addresses of recipients of Blookd Gift Cards and Merchant Gift Cards, and other information provided by you on our Sites.
  2. Mobile Application Information: If you use our mobile application to book appointments or make payments, we may collect your mobile device ID, precise location data, and the SMB search locations you select.
  3. Friends and Family Feature: When using our Friends and Family feature to book appointments for others, we will access and collect details from your contact book, including names, addresses, phone numbers, and emails. Similarly, if another user has added you to their account using the Friends and Family feature, we will collect the data provided by that user and process it in accordance with this privacy policy, which also provides you with rights as the data subject of that imported contact data.
  4. Additional Information Sources: We may obtain information from third-party websites, applications, and services (referred to as "Third-Party Platforms") that you connect with our Sites, and combine it with the information we collect on our Sites.

You can review and edit your personal data that you have provided to us at any time by accessing the "Profile" > "Account Details" tab in the Books application.

Automatically Collected Information

When you visit our Sites, certain information is automatically collected, including:

  1. Location Information: We may collect your location data.
  2. Device Information: We collect information about your computer operating system, Internet Protocol (IP) address, access times, browser type and language, and the website you visited prior to our Sites.
  3. Usage and Activity Information: We collect information about your usage and activity on our Sites using technologies such as cookies and web beacons.

We use "cookies" and similar technology to collect information. Cookies are small data files that may have unique identifiers and can be found on your computer, mobile device, or in emails we send you. Cookies help us improve our Sites and enhance your experience. They allow us to identify popular areas and features of our Sites and count visits. Information contained in cookies placed on your device by Third-Party Platforms may be accessed by us in accordance with the terms of your agreement and privacy settings with such Third-Party Platforms. We may share this information with the Third-Party Platform as permitted by your agreement and privacy settings with them.

We utilize web beacons, which are electronic images used on our Sites or in our emails, to collect information. Web beacons help deliver cookies, count visits, understand usage and campaign effectiveness, and determine if you open and act upon an email.

We do not currently recognize "do-not-track" signals from your browser.

This may involve analyzing your appointment history to provide recommendations for other SMBs that may pique your interest.
  6. Contest Management: Processing and delivering contest entries and rewards.
  7. Relevant Advertising: Presenting advertising that aligns with your interests.
  8. Customer Service: Addressing your inquiries, comments, and questions and providing customer support.
  9. Information Communications: Sending you pertinent information regarding our products and services, including reservation confirmations, receipts, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages.
  10. Marketing Communications: Engaging in communication with you pertaining to contests, offers, promotions, rewards, upcoming events, and other news about products and services provided by Blookd, our subsidiaries and affiliates, selected SMBs, and our chosen partners.
  11. Data Linking: Connecting or merging your personal information with data acquired from third parties to gain a deeper understanding of your needs and provide improved service.
  12. Card Authentication: Verifying the authenticity of your credit or debit card account information.
  13. Fraud Prevention: Safeguarding against, investigating, and deterring fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activities.

By voluntarily providing your mobile phone number, you expressly grant your consent to receive direct dial calls, autodialed and prerecorded message calls, and text messages from us pertaining to our products and services, using the provided number.

Blookd reserves the right to store and process personal information in the United States and other countries. The processing of your data will adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Contract Conclusion and Performance: We will retain and process your data until the contract is terminated or expires. Subsequently, we will retain it until the expiration of the statute of limitations for any potential claims.
  2. Marketing of Products or Services (excluding direct marketing): We will retain and process your data until the termination or expiration of the contract, or until you object to the processing of your data for this specific purpose.
  3. Direct Marketing of Blookd Products or Services: We will retain and process your data until the termination or expiration of the contract, or until you object to the processing of your data for direct marketing purposes.
  4. Profiling/Grouping Purposes: We will retain and process your data until the termination or expiration of the contract, or until you object to the processing of your data for this particular purpose.
  5. Research into Preferences Regarding Service Demand: We will retain and process your data until the termination or expiration of the contract, or until you object to the processing of your data for research purposes related to service demand preferences.
  6. Claims Establishment, Investigation, or Defense: We will retain and process your data until the end of the statute of limitations for claims, in order to establish, investigate, or defend against any potential claims.
  7. Compliance with Legal Obligations: We will retain and process your data until the expiration of legal data storage obligations as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Production of Compilations, Analyses, and Statistics for Internal Requirements: We will retain and process your data for the duration of the agreement. Subsequently, we will retain it until the end of the statute of limitations for claims arising from the agreement, or until you raise an objection to data processing for this purpose.
  9. Implementation or Development of New Solutions/Features of Blookd Systems/Applications: We will retain and process your data until the termination or expiration of the contract, or until you object to the data processing for the purpose of implementing or developing new solutions/features of Blookd systems/applications.

Part III – Information Sharing Practices: How We Share Your Information

  1. Disclosure of Information to Small and Medium Businesses (SMBs)
  2. Upon making an appointment through our Sites, the information provided by you will be disclosed to us and the SMB with whom you have chosen to schedule the appointment. This disclosure is necessary for the purpose of facilitating your appointment and is akin to the disclosure that would occur if you made an appointment by calling the SMB, emailing the SMB, or utilizing the SMB's website. Should you provide a mobile phone number, the SMBs may send you text messages pertaining to your reservation. Some SMBs may also require your credit or debit card account details to secure your appointment. When appointments are made through our Sites, we may additionally share additional information with the SMBs, such as your historical information or information collected through Third-Party Platforms. Furthermore, you have the option to indicate special preferences or provide comments about your appointment, which Blookd will transmit to the respective SMB. We may also furnish SMBs with summary reports of client feedback. Should you choose to provide comments about an SMB through our Sites, these comments may be shared with the SMB. While we will not associate your comments with identifiable information, an SMB may discern your identity from the comments, particularly if you disclose your name or provide contact information, such as an email address. Information that you choose to share with an SMB when making an appointment and/or making a payment through our Sites may be utilized by the SMB for its own purposes. Blookd does not exercise control over the privacy practices of SMBs. Kindly reach out to the SMB directly if you wish to acquaint yourself with their privacy practices.

  3. Information Disclosure to Gift Card Merchants

In the event that you purchase a Merchant Gift Card or redeem a Blookd Gift Card for a Merchant Gift Card through our Sites, we will notify the relevant issuer of the Merchant Gift Card and furnish them with specific associated information concerning your purchase or redemption. This information includes your name, email address, and the value of the Merchant Gift Card.

  5. Payment Card Information

To avail certain services on our Sites, such as scheduling appointments with specific SMBs, making payments to Blookd, and purchasing Blookd Gift Cards, Merchant Gift Cards, or other products or services, it may be necessary to provide credit or debit card account information. By submitting your credit or debit card account information through our Sites, you expressly consent to the sharing of your information with third-party payment processors and other third-party service providers. Furthermore, you agree to the following terms. Blookd handles all payments on behalf of SMBs through established professional payment gateway providers. When a credit or debit card is used to secure a reservation via our Sites, we disclose our credit or debit card account information (including card number and expiration date, but excluding the CV number) to our third-party payment service providers. If you purchase Blookd Gift Cards or Merchant Gift Cards from us, we collect your credit or debit card account information, which is then shared with our third-party payment service providers for payment processing. These third parties may also retain your credit or debit card information, excluding your CV number, for future use on our Sites. Your CV number will not be stored and must be re-entered for each order. For information regarding the security of your credit or debit card account information, please refer to the section titled "Security of Your Personal Information" below.

  7. Information Shared on Social Platforms
  8. Our Sites may offer the functionality to connect and share your actions, comments, content, and information publicly or with friends on Third-Party Platforms such as Facebook or Instagram. Additionally, our Sites may enable you to connect with us, share content on, and utilize Third-Party Platforms where Blookd maintains a presence. It is important to consider your personal privacy requirements and those of others when deciding whom to connect with and what information to share and make public. We are unable to control the privacy or security of information that you choose to make public or share with others. Moreover, Blookd does not govern the privacy practices of Third-Party Platforms.     • Payment Card Information: As detailed in the "Payment Card Information" section above, we may share your credit or debit card account information with third parties to facilitate payment processing.
    • Aggregate Statistical Data: For the purpose of improving the services offered on our Sites, we may share aggregated statistical data that does not personally identify individuals.
    • Service Providers: We may disclose personal information to third-party service providers that assist us with data collection, reporting, ad response measurement, site analytics, and delivery of relevant marketing messages and advertisements. It is important to clarify that Blookd does not store your credit or debit card account information directly, nor do we exercise direct control or responsibility over it. Our contractual agreements with third parties receiving your credit or debit card account information mandate the secure and confidential handling of such information.

However, it is important to note that we cannot provide an absolute guarantee that transmissions of your credit or debit card account information or personal information will always remain secure or that unauthorized third parties will be incapable of circumventing the security measures implemented by Blookd or our third-party service providers. We assume no liability or responsibility for any disclosure of your information resulting from transmission errors, unauthorized third-party access, or other causes beyond our control.

You play a vital role in maintaining the security of your personal information. It is imperative that you refrain from sharing your user name, password, or any other security information associated with your Blookd account with anyone. Should we receive instructions utilizing your user name and password, we will consider those instructions as authorized by you.

If you utilize the Blookd application on an iOS system device, you can delete your account by accessing the "Profile" section, navigating to the "Account Details" tab, and selecting the "Delete my account" button. By deleting your account within the Blookd application, your personal data will also be erased from the Books application.

Part VII – Notice to California Residents

Generally, upon receiving a request from a California Customer, subject to exceptions, Blookd is obligated to provide a list of all third parties to whom personal information was disclosed during the previous calendar year, along with the categories of personal information that were disclosed. However, one exception permits Blookd to offer California Customers a no-cost means to opt out of such disclosures instead of providing the aforementioned list. To opt out of these disclosures, any customer can contact Blookd as described above. California Customers may also request additional information regarding our compliance with this law by reaching out to us at the aforementioned address.

Blookd reserves the right to periodically update or revise this Policy. You acknowledge and agree to review this Policy regularly. In the event of any modifications to this Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date mentioned above. You have the discretion to accept or reject any modified version of this Policy. However, accepting this Policy, as modified, is necessary for you to continue using our Sites.
